WHY SHOULD I SEE A FIRST CONGREGATIONAL
CHURCH PRODUCTION?

Did you know that…..
• There are 2 separate casts (with a few people in both);
• Every performer is a church member;
• Set designer artist, audio engineer, set construction people also church members;
• Age range of our participants is from age 4 to 90;
And...
• We have 1½-year-old mascot.
• Two of our main characters sang in the Junior Choir 10-14 years ago.
• I’ve yet to know myself how many couples will be waltzing at the party!

IF I HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE WITH SUPERB ACTORS,
WHY SHOULD I GO TO THE MUSICAL PLAY?

The movie is a Hollywood production and changes were made in the original script to fulfill Hollywood’s requirements.
• For example, you will find a different reason for the Baroness not
marrying the Captain.
• Some of the music was left out of the movie.
• The characters of Max and Elsa are much more developed.
• Rolf’s action at the end is different from the movie.
• See if you can spot the differences!

Whether play or movie, music is the main event. After all it's called "The Sound of Music!" Music had been absent for a long time for the von Trapp family. What difference does the music make for them when Maria brings it back?
